Solomon Systech, a semiconductor company providing display IC products and system solutions based in Hong Kong, announced on September 5 that the company has partnered with China-based panel maker Visionox to develop a qHD AMOLED display driver IC designed for smartphones.
“Funded by Electronics Information Industry Development Fund under Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People’s Republic of China, Solomon Systech and Visionox collaborated strategically to develop AMOLED display driver IC targeting smartphones,” Solomon Systech said in a statement. The company described the newly-develop solution as China’s first home-grown qHD AMOLED display driver IC.
The qHD display driver IC has passed verification using 4.6-inch WVGA multi-color AMOLED display panels, Solomon Systech indicated.
Solomon Systech also noted that the company and Visionox are collaborating to develop a new AMOLED display driver IC of even higher resolution.
