HTC sponsors eSports teams Cloud 9, Team Liquid, Team SoloMid

HTC has made an entrance into the eSports arena sponsoring three teams: Cloud 9, Team Liquid and Team SoloMid (TSM).

The sponsorships kicked off on January 24 with Cloud 9 and Team Liquid playing in the first Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) tournament hosted by MLG which took place in Aspen, Colorado. All three teams will participate in the season start of the North America League of Legends Championship Series (LCS).

Cloud 9 is one of the most successful North America-based gaming organizations with nearly 150,000 Twitter followers, while TSM currently attracts six million unique Twitch viewers per month, and Team Liquid’s YouTube channel has been viewed 25 million times, HTC said.

With eSports rapidly growing in popularity around the globe and achieving viewership levels on par with many traditional sports, these elite team sponsorships represent a tremendous opportunity for HTC to connect with the gaming community and customers, HTC added.
